The Airport Metro Connector (AMC) represents a major investment in regional mobility and airport access. Strategically positioned near LAX at Aviation Blvd and 96th Street, this high-capacity transit center is designed to streamline connections between Metro Rail lines, municipal bus routes, bicycles, pedestrian traffic, and, in the near future, the LAX Automated People Mover (APM).

NGCE supports large-scale transportation programs like AMC by offering comprehensive civil and utility coordination services essential for complex, multi-agency urban infrastructure. For projects of this type, our role often includes:

• Subsurface utility engineering and conflict mitigation
• 3D utility modeling and trenchless crossing design
• Civil support for rail platform grading, roadway tie-ins, and drainage
• Coordination with electrical, communications, and aviation infrastructure
• Plan overlay verification using GIS/KMZ to inform design decisions
• Constructability reviews and cost estimating support
   

The AMC includes multiple at-grade light rail platforms (C Line and K Line), a 16-bay bus terminal, bike hub, pedestrian plaza, customer service areas, and vehicle drop-off zones - all planned to achieve LEED Gold certification through solar energy integration and native landscape design.
